The Byrna CL-XL is not classified as a firearm since it is powered by co2 cartridges. It therefore does not require a permit or background check to own and is legal in all 50 states. Must be 18 or older to purchase. Please check with city regulations.

Does the CLXL shoot harder than the standard CL?
Yes. The CLXL features a factory-tuned velocity increase, reaching up to 410 FPS (feet per second), providing more kinetic energy upon impact.
Can I use my existing Byrna CL magazines in the CLXL?
Yes! The Byrna CLXL is backward compatible with standard 5-round Byrna CL magazines. Also the new 7 Round Extended Magazine will fit in the CL or CLXL.

12-gram CO2 is the most common size in the world for air powered devices. You can find it at almost any sporting goods store, and it is significantly more cost-effective when purchased in bulk compared to the specialty 8g cartridges.
